Safe-T-Gate Automatic is a great solution where protection for both personnel and material handling equipment is needed to safeguard loading and shipping docks.  Safe-T-Gate offers push button raising and lowering capability, can be interlocked or interconnected with dock locks and other equipment and is available in both light and heavy capacity models.

Loading and shipping docks have long been recognized for the dangerous 4 foot drop-off that they create as addressed in OSHA 1910.23 specifically.  When loading dock doors are left open to improve air movement in facilities, people and material handling equipment become even more exposed to a possible accidental fall or roll off.

Until Safe-T-Gate, most facilities have not had a way to adequately address the problem.  Safety chains provide little visibility and lack the strength to resist the impact of a forklift.  Other solutions require manual operation.

Safe-T-Gate Automatic is effective for protecting both forklifts and personnel for any in-plant areas that need to be restricted and where push-button activation and interlocking with other equipment or systems is required.

Total Safety System Compatibility:

Specifications:

• Sizes range from 5'0" to 10'0" clear opening width an 6'6" to 12'0" clear opening height

• Overall unit width is clear opening width plus 16-1/2". Overall height is clear opening height plus 3'3". Unit depth is 16".

• Vertical posts are 3" square, 14 gauge steel tube.  Wardens are 30" high and 1/4" steel.  Post & Warden base plates are floor mounted with 5 each 3/4 x 5-3/4 concrete anchors supplied with the unit.  Unit is self-standing. Steel structural components are powder coat painted.

• Horizontal rails are 3" wide x 7" high PVC with black/yellow safety striping. 6" high 10,000 pounds tensile strength polyester strap is attached to front of bottom rail.  Catch bracket slides in and out of Warden as gate is lowered and raised.

• 110 VAC operator raises and lowers the rails with push-button controls.  Rails move vertically via rollers and 3" roller track mounted to inside of vertical posts.  When traveling upward an obstruction will cause the gate to stop.  When traveling downward and obstruction will cause the gate to reverse to open.  Safety features include reversing photo-eye and vertical side straps.

• Optional center plate can be added for door numbers or other signage.
